We took Maggie on a hike yesterday to a viewpoint in a park in the area. It was about a 3 1/2 mile hike with 650 feet elevation gain and we completed it in an hour and a half. I figure that’s pretty good time considering that we haven’t hiked for awhile. We did have some problems with her during the hike though: she kept getting aggressive towards horses that passed. It was kind of strange. She does great with dogs and cats but has a thing against horses. So we started to really pull her aside whenever one rode by to keep everyone safe.
I myself have been feeling a lot better since starting Babesia treatment. I’m sleeping better, am less anxious, and just feel more centered. My sore throat also is not as bad as usual. So this is really good. Hopefully I’m on the road to recovery!
In other news, Nakia is getting spayed today! She is in heat right now so I’m sure that we’re going to be charged more. I really hope that everything goes okay with the procedure. Then, she’ll be in a cone and be in Maggie’s crate for about two weeks. I also haven’t heard from our pet insurance to see if she was enrolled so I need to call them this morning.
I have yoga in about two hours and we are going to do a Hatha/Ashtanga flow! I’m really excited for it.
Here’s a picture of me and Maggie on our hike yesterday:
