Finally, The Election Has Been Decided

News just hit that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have been elected as President and Vice President of the USA. It definitely has been a tense few days as votes come in. I, myself, even ate some chocolate coconut ice cream yesterday to cope with all of the stress caused by the election. But now it looks like we have a winner, and it’s not Donald Trump, which I’m happy about!

Still, the fact that so many people still voted for him, to me, is very sad. It’s hard for me to believe that people would vote for a president who basically has created concentration camps for immigrants in the US, is openly racist, has been accused of sexual assault many times, contributed to a growing pandemic, removed environmental regulations, and more. But, apparently people still love Donald Trump for some reason, which is baffling to me.

I’m just glad that this phase of this country is over and that we are starting anew. Hopefully we can get environmental regulations put back into place and work on lessening the impact of the coronavirus. Also, I’m hoping that Biden will reunite immigrant children with their families. I realize that there is much that needs to be done after the mess that Trump made of this country, and it will take time to repair it. Hopefully Biden/Harris are up for the job.

I know that I don’t usually post political posts in my blog, but the truth is that I’m a very liberal person. I care very much about the environment and am a proponent of human and animal rights, and more. I just don’t make this the focus of my blog.
