Maggie seemed to be doing better on Friday, despite vomiting a couple of times in the morning. We decided, though, to keep her home from her training class Saturday morning and a doodle meetup. It was too bad because she missed graduation from her teens training class. I was really disappointed, but, when she started having diarrhea all over the house at around 10 am, I was glad that we didn’t go. We ended up taking her to the vet, who put her on antibiotics and changed her food to an even more bland diet. The vet said that it will take a few days for the antibiotics to work, and then she should start feeling better. We’re also sending in a stool sample Monday morning to check for parasites and things like giardia. I am worried about her having something like this because she keeps drinking from puddles and lakes at dog parks before we can get to her to stop. We should find out the reason behind her stomach upset sometime next week. I am very worried about her though.
Still, she has plenty of energy despite being sick and is her usual cuddly self, which are all good signs. She cuddled quite a bit this morning when we woke up. She really is a very sweet doggy.
A funny thing that happened around our house this morning is that all the cats have picked up on the fact that Maggie has tasty wet food right now. They surrounded her this morning while she was in her crate! It was very cute.
An update on Patrick: I’m still waiting to hear back from the neurology department to schedule Patrick’s MRI. I’m hoping that they can do it soon since we’ve been waiting for a long time to get it scheduled. I’m going to call again tomorrow morning to see what the hold up is.
