We took Maggie up to Bellingham yesterday to hike on the North Lake Whatcom/Hertz Trail. It’s a trail that’s pretty much flat and is about 5 miles long round trip. The scenery there is really beautiful as it borders Lake Whatcom. It was really busy there, though, even at 11 am. The parking lot was full and we had to park off the road. It was still a nice hike though. We only walked about 2 miles though for 45 minutes because Maggie’s still a puppy and puppies aren’t supposed to walk that far.
Afterwards, we tried to go out to Boundary Bay for lunch but the downtown area was way too busy, so we went to Boomer’s. I had a bacon burger, which I still feel bad about. Even though it was good, it was really caloric, and it put me over my calories for the day.
Then we met up with my sister and her family and went on their boat. It was Maggie’s first time on a boat. I was really nervous because I’ve had bad experiences with male family members driving boats crazily, but luckily my brother in law and sister were safe drivers. I went swimming in the lake, which was fun, and then when we got back we let Maggie play at the dog park. She seemed to have a lot of fun on the boat. Here are some pictures of our day:
