We realized on Saturday that Sunday was our six month wedding anniversary! We didn’t really have anything planned for the day other than paddleboard yoga in the morning. Unfortunately, though, David wasn’t feeling too well yesterday, so we didn’t do much for our anniversary. We ended up getting take out from The Outback, which I felt was really greasy and made my stomach kind of upset. So, we’re going to try to make up this day by taking Maggie sailing next weekend!
In terms of our marriage, I do feel like David and I have come a long way with our communication skills and learning to validate and support one another. I feel this is huge since we both come from dysfunctional families. I feel these days like we are doing pretty well overall.
This weekend Maggie also had a puppy play date with another doodle, which was lots of fun for her! We’re hoping that the owner will want to meet up with us again so that she can have someone to play with!
I found stand up paddle board yoga to be much less frightening this time. I actually did pretty well at it. I’m proud of myself, and still have enough energy to do some yoga today!
Overall, I’m doing much better these days. I can focus better, and I am not as hypervigilant all of the time. I think that learning yoga has really helped reduce my PTSD symptoms.
