We had to take Patrick to the emergency vet on Friday because he was having problems eating his food and was nauseous. The vet didn’t find anything of concern, however, he is due for his ultrasounds sometime soon to check on his intestinal lymphoma. For now, we have him on appetite stimulants and anti-nausea meds, which have helped him get back to eating. Hopefully in the next month he can get some repeat ultrasounds so that we can find out why he is so nauseous. The vets are hoping to combine that with an MRI and his heart check up, so I’m waiting to hear back from them to schedule all of this. I’m hoping that they can do it all in one day.
I didn’t write in my blog yesterday morning because we were quite busy. Maggie started a training class for teenage dogs on Saturday mornings that goes through the end of August. I really liked the trainer in this class and have high hopes for it. And, I’m hoping that she gets to meet some dogs her age.
We also took her back to the beach. This time, I got into the water and she followed me in! She had a lot of fun splashing around but still didn’t actually swim. She did play fetch with another dog though. She’s a very friendly dog and likes to play with everyone, including other dogs at the dog park. Luckily they’ve all been friendly back to her.
I am having a bit of a hard time with my health right now, though. I got some lab tests back and my cortisol is really elevated. Because my thyroid is high too I am going to be seeing an endocrinologist. I really hope that I’m just stressed and that nothing too serious is going on outside of the Lyme and co-infections.
On Friday I also tried the infared sauna here in our town. It was really nice, and I did notice that I had more energy than usual yesterday and felt a bit better overall. So I’m going to start using that a couple of times a week. My Lyme doctor suggested to do it.
Today I’m going to clean the house even though I really don’t want to (I’d like to relax for a day). I would do it another day but I have appointments all week next week so, it looks like today’s the day to do it. David’s going to help me so it shouldn’t be too bad.
