We had to take Patrick in to see the neurologist in today, plus Maggie is in at the vet because she’s been vomiting. Patrick was supposed to be at his appointment at 9, but we were running late. It took some time to get both pets ready, plus my stomach was upset and nauseous this morning. So we ended up being about 10 minutes late to Patrick’s appointment. Still, the whole thing was frustrating.
The neurologist told us that Patrick looks good in terms of his exam, but does have some problems that could be neurological. She recommended that we do an MRI to find out more about his possible brain tumor, but to wait until we can fit his other exams in with it in July or August. So now we’re just waiting for emails from his specialists to see when he needs to come in for a full day workup. Apparently he needs a cardio workup and more ultrasounds done, so it will be a big day for him.
Even though this is good news, I was still frustrating because we ran late. Plus, by the time the appointment was over, it had been a few hours since my morning protein shake and I was starving. So we decided to pick up some food on the way home. Patrick rode back on my lap until I got my food and ate, which was really sweet and reminded me of when he and his brother used to ride everywhere with me. He really loved sitting on my lap during the car ride. Once we got home, I even let him eat grass for a little while on our lawn too, which he enjoyed. So that made my day better.
Afterward I decided to try a weight lifting/aerobics cardio video from Gaia.com. I tried two and did about 28 minutes of it. There were a lot of squats and lunges and things like that. It was hard, and it got my heart rate up quite a bit. It was also kind of fun though. I think that I’m going to try to incorporate that workout into my routine. Then I worked on my writing for awhile.
Still, even though there were some good moments of the day, I feel quite moody and tired overall. Maggie woke up the house early, wanting attention. She’s very energetic right now because she hasn’t been going for her usual walks (she just got spayed). This can be hard to deal with.
