I’m trying out intermittent fasting because it is supposed to help with weight loss as well as Lyme disease symptoms. So far, it seems to be going well. The fasting that I’ve been doing is a 13-14 hour fast every night, so I’m not going whole days without eating or anything like that. I’m trying to take it easy on myself as much as possible. I’m already losing weight from this. I lost two pounds last week from just exercise and diet alone and have already lost another two pounds so far this week. I hope that I’m not losing weight too fast, but I’m assuming that I’m not because part of it is probably water weight.
I’ve lost weight quickly before too when I’ve gone off of medications or started dieting, so this isn’t the first time this has happened. I just need to make sure that I’m doing it in a healthy way.
I am noticing that I have more energy and am sleeping better with the fasting as well. Also, since I’m not overeating I don’t feel as much of a need to exercise twice a day, so I’ve been exercising a little less (still every day though).
It is hard, though, because I’m still hungry all the time from my medications. I ate dinner, for example, at 6:30 pm last night and yogurt at 7:30, and went to bed at 10:30. I was a little hungry when I went to bed, and woke up at 7 or so just starving. But, I don’t eat again until 9:30 so right now I’m waiting to eat. It definitely isn’t comfortable to do this but I’m hoping to see results from it, especially with my Lyme symptoms. Fasting is good for detox so it should help me.
I’m only half a week or so into this experiment, though, so I need a lot more time doing it to see what the results are. Hopefully they are good results.
