I’ve decided that I’m going to try intermittent fasting. Part of the reason for this is to lose weight; the other is to help reduce symptoms of Lyme disease. Last night, I cut off food/snacking at 7:30 pm and then didn’t eat again until 9:30 am this morning. I’m actually feeling way less sluggish than usual. So, I’m going to stop eating by 7:30 every night for awhile, and then eventually do a 16 hour fast where I eat at dinner at 5:30 and then don’t eat again until the morning. I’ll do the 16 hour fast a couple of times a week.
Hopefully this will help my symptoms and promote weight loss. I know that I need to do something to change because I’ve been struggling with my weight for awhile, and despite exercising two times a day I’m not losing much. I think a lot of the reason is because I tend to snack in the evenings, especially when I have to take THC for chronic pain. So, I’m just going to set this boundary for myself and stick to it.
If you haven’t noticed, I’ve really been getting into wellness lately. I’m enjoying doing it. I’ve been trying to exercise twice a day, too, for shorter periods of time rather than one extended session. This seems to work better with my energy levels. This week I did yoga 5 times, went on the stationary bike once, and walked every day. Tomorrow is my day off of exercise though, so I’m going to clean the house, which will burn a lot of calories too.
I’m hoping that by the end of the summer I’m in better shape and have at least more of a beach body. I can’t totally rely on that, though, because I’m on two medications that cause weight gain. So, this means that just stabilizing my weight might have to be good enough for me.
I’m noticing that all this exercise and focus on wellness is really improving my mood, too, and my ability to focus. It’s nice.
