My chronic pain has been severe for years, to the point of where it’s hard for me to do passive things like watch tv because the pain is so great that I can’t pay attention. I do a little better doing more active things, because it takes my mind off of it, but the pain is so bad that I can’t sustain for very long. I also don’t have the energy to do a lot of activities for too long of a time. This means that I spend a lot of time just trying to watch tv and rest and feeling very uncomfortable. It’s not a lot of fun. Life has been somewhat miserable for almost five years because of this pattern and the pain levels I’ve been in.
I’ve tried all kinds of things for the pain: exercise, CBD, lavender, low-dose Naltrexone, Yoga, meditation, and other things. But even though these things might help, they have not fully relieved my severe pain. Thus it’s been a constant struggle just to stay afloat.
Some time ago my Dad bought me some hemp extract oil at a Natural Foods store near me. Apparently he had tried something similar for a sore muscle and it worked really well for him. Then, of course, I put it on my shelf and forgot about it! I doubted that it really could take away my pain because CBD only has done a nominal job at it.
Last night, though, I decided to try the hemp extract roll on oil. And, it worked! For the first time in years I was and still am pain free. Then, last night I slept pretty well and only slept from 11:30-8:30 and still feel awake (I usually sleep for 10 or 11 hours)! It’s pretty great.
I have some hope now that maybe things can really get better for me. If I can keep my pain levels down, I will not only be more comfortable but also hopefully more productive, and might actually be able to truly have some fun here and there and actually fully relax! It’s been years since I relaxed 100% because of my chronic pain levels.
Tomorrow I am going to a Yoga for people with chronic illnesses. But, it snowed quite a bit here last night! Hopefully I can actually make it. I’ve been looking forward to it for some time.
