I did quite a bit over the weekend, and am really exhausted today. It definitely was worth it, though. On Saturday I saw my new counselor. He is definitely well-versed in DID. He talked to me about how people with DID can have parts who have different eyesight, different mental or physical health conditions, and that sometimes parts can even inhibit medications. These are all things that I have learned while researching DID, but I could not find a counselor who knew about an y of it. Finally, I have. This counselor is also very big on cooperation between parts as well, which is different from my previous counselor who pushed me towards integration, which caused a lot of system imbalance. So, I’m really glad that I found him. Hopefully I can get the help that I need from him.
After my appointment with the counselor on Saturday David and I decided to go to Pike Place Market again for lunch and some shopping. It was fun, but boy was Seattle crowded this past weekend! I would have liked to look at more of the shops but David wasn’t feeling it because of the crowds. So,we ate lunch at a Mexican restaurant and got street tacos, looked around through the farmer’s market/local booth area and bought a few things, and then went home.
Sunday we decided to stay around the house and played a lot of video games and watched a couple of movies: the Secret Life of Pets 2 and How to Train Your Dragon 2. I really liked the second movie, and am looking forward to seeing the third. This is not to say that the Secret Life of Pets 2 wasn’t cute, though, because it was. I just really connected for some reason to How to Train Your Dragon 2. And, it was really good for my child parts too to watch not just one but two kids movies in a day.
Yesterday David and I hiked about half of the Lime Kiln Trail. We wanted to do the whole thing but didn’t want to overdo it, so we turned around as soon as we were able to see the river. It was a nice hike and got prettier towards the end. Hopefully in a few months we will be in good enough shape to hike the whole 7 miles of that hike. I think that we are going to start hiking more often. Next weekend we want to hike the Washington Arboretum in Seattle.
I’m not sure if I’m going to exercise later today or just rest. We’ll see. If I do exercise, it’s going to be on the stationary bike. Maybe tomorrow I can go on the elliptical too if I get up early enough (the room that it’s in gets too warm to work out in later in the day).
Well, thanks for reading! Feel free to comment below.
