Patrick and Lucy’s Response to My Ear Infection

I’ll write one more short blog today even though I’m sick. It’s about Patrick and Lucy and their cute responses to me while I have an ear infection.

Lucy started to worry about me last night when my fever was high. He was worried that I might end up in the hospital again. I let him know that if I did have to go to the hospital, it wouldn’t be the same one that I was in before (I had a bad experience there). Also, I let him know that I will go to the hospital if I am sick enough. He tends to worry about this because I don’t like to go because I’m unable to be home with and take care of him and the other cats while I’m there. But, I made it clear to him that I’ll go in if I need to.

This morning I woke up earlier than usual to go to the doctor, and David was the one who woke me up. But, the cats didn’t like the fact that I didn’t get as much sleep as I usually do, and were glaring at David for quite some time for waking me up “too early”. Then, Lucy sat on my lap as I ate breakfast and had many questions about why I was up early.

He asked again if I’m going to the hospital, and I told him that I’m going to the clinic here in town. Then he wanted to make sure that I’m not going on vacation because I wake up early whenever we do. I let him know again that this is for a doctor’s appointment. Eventually he calmed down about my change in schedule.

It’s funny how protective Patrick and Lucy are of me, and that they react to the smallest change in routine in our household. I guess that is how cats are though– they are really sensitive to their surroundings.

As soon as I got home from the doctor and sat down Patrick pretty much immediately jumped into my lap. He’s sleeping now and is all curled up. I really should be resting in bed but I don’t have the heart to wake him. So I’ll do my best to just rest here in my armchair.

Thanks for reading! Feel free to share your stories about pets below.
